I look at my past paintings to understand my habits as a painter. The repetition of patterns and colors helps to understand my process.  

Every painting begins with one shape. And it grows from there…

Color is clearly one of the biggest influences in my work. The more that I can explore it, the more I feel comfortable experimenting with it in my paintings. 

I remember when I first realized they sold color swatches, in sets with over a 150 colors! Color aid was the product every art student dreaded buying for class. I happened to be the one student that was going to buy the most expensive set even though I didn’t have to. I knew I needed it! At this point I have bought two sets of Color Aid, and they have been one of the best investments thus far in my career.
